Event photography is so much fun because you never know what to expect but it’s also demanding because you have to organize a lot of people. Anyhoo, the girls were great & it was like a pub crawl as we visited bars & restaurants in the downtown & Erie St. areas. Some of the places we visited were: Mezzo, Chanosos, Lefty’s Lounge, La Contessa, The Beach.
Once again the 2010 Red Bull Air Races drew thousands to the riverfront to watch those daredevil pilots vie for a championship spot on their world wide tour. Activation of the races always begins with those beautiful Red Bull girls making their way to area bars & restaurants to spread the excitement. This is the second year I was given the contract to shoot the event. It’s always so exciting to do this event because everyone is so pumped. And even Mother Nature kept the weather at bay until we completed the run through downtown & Erie Streets. Here’s to the Red Bull Staff & city officials who planned a fantastic week-end to showcase our city & the plane races. Here’s a few now. Will post more later.
On March 31st I had an opportunity to do some commercial work for premiere hair designer Antoine Greige so he can have some pics on the walls after the fire that destroyed everything. His staff created the makeup to compliment the hair design. Nelly, from His & Hers Wear provided the dresses for the beautiful models and Antoine treated all of us to four kinds of pizza from Micanto’s Pizzeria on Chatham St. W. Boy were they so good!!!!! Here’s some pics from the day including behind the scenes.
Behind the Scenes
Pizza for Everyone!
A few weeks ago, I was asked to be a part of printed history and shoot for the Freeds 80th Anniversary magazine. We spent 2 mornings at Freeds, documenting the people and fashion as well as the men behind 2 of Windsor’s best known salons: U4ia on Howard and T’Dye For on Ottawa.
The magazine itself is set to be released with the Windsor Star tomorrow. However, the digital copy, which is already available, can be viewed on the Windsor Star website. The following are the pages on which my work is featured. Enjoy!
How does a plate of prime rib, roasted rosemary potatoes and mixed bean salad with a mexi- kick, sound? How about finished with your choice of mouth-watering apple or nutella-banana crepes? Yum, right?
Tuesday night I took part in a fun and informative cooking class offered by Georgina Burns at the Freed-Orman kitchen. I’m now incredibly proud to say that I’m a pro at making the above menu.. well, more or less. Either way, the kitchen was alight with positive energy, as Georgina circulated and offered thorough instruction to her pupils– I’m sure the amazing aromas wafted over to the University, lighting more than a few students’ appetites.
Georgina is a local caterer who offers weekly cooking classes out of the Freed-Orman kitchen. I know I wouldn’t mind going back again.. and I certainly recommend her class to all my friends! Jeez.. my mouth is watering just thinking about it, again.
If only computers had a scratch and sniff option..

Guess who shot for the cover…
Friday was a great day for me as I had an opportunity to photograph yummy food at one of Windsor’s finest restaurants, Per Bacco on Ottawa St. My goal was to make the pictures look so mouth-watering that the viewer would want to make reservations immediately (Commercial Photography needs to reflect this sense of feeling). I do believe I achieved my goal if I might say so myself! Anyway, my assistant Mallory was kept busy setting up the scenes while the chefs cooked up the fresh dishes. The only thing was that I wanted to taste all of them. We spent most of the afternoon shooting the food, employees, store-front and, of course, the owner. Afterwards, we stayed to enjoy a wonderful Italian meal served in style with the perfect ambience. Ennio’s mother has made the tiramisu they serve for 60 years. Fabuuullous!! I recommend Per Bacco to everyone for a fine night of dining.
